Stickleback - Black Walnut and Lead Crystal
| The carved surface of this piece is punctuated by lead crystal spikes. The concealed light source underneath causes the spikes to glow like fibre optics. This came from the idea of having a piece of furniture infected by some beautiful disease. Like a spray of machine gun fire, icycles burst out of its back. In many of my pieces I try to capture a frozen moment, like a photograph freezes movement. |
